The Windows Vista® upgrade process depends on the Windows® XP edition and language you currently have on your computer.


Upgrade Methods

In-place Upgrade. An upgrade from Windows® XP to Windows Vista® automatically migrates all user data, settings and applications.

Clean Install. You will get a new operating system after a clean install. However, you will have to manually migrate your data and settings from Windows® XP to Windows Vista® and reinstall all applications under Windows Vista®.
